The following pages contain stories of a fictional nature detailing the exploits of one of Starfleet's lesser-known crews, the crew of the Federation Starship Psycho. To be honest with you, this crew aren't exactly Starfleet's finest. In fact they're not very good at all...

It's not that late...
Erm... or then again, maybe it is. As Bart can attest, I had a little trouble getting Macramé to flow nicely. I'm still not entirely convinced I've cracked it, but I'm much happier with it now that I was. Oh, and I went on holiday, which may also account for this update being so frickin' late.

So, as I always seem to be saying, my apologies for that. Moving on with the announcements, Nowls and I are still working on the background changes that you're never going to notice. Isn't that grand?

As for stories, this week sees the release of the halfway marker in the Cholmondely-Smythe Year: Macramé. When Q offers Cholmondely-Smythe the opportunity to change his life, will the captain take it? And what could Q's motivation possibly be? Read on to find out!

Also, I'm putting up the next few communiques in Lt. Pete Barfoot and the case of the missing coffee percolator.

Enjoy!

Now this is a little different
Wow, it's been a while since I did an update! As you can see, things have made some progress. XD

What's new:
  • A domain name! We've taken on st-psycho.co.uk to make future server changes transparent. Nothing at all to do with the fact we just wanted one. Honest!
  • News on the main page. (Obviously :) The old full updates page wasn't getting many hits and we didn't like the static "intro page" feel this page used to have, so it's now in the more traditional "news" style.
  • We've changed the border (the 3 pixel thing around this part) from images to a css border declaration (fewer images = less bandwidth, faster loading), so if it looks odd or missing it's because your browser is old or has style sheets disabled. We've also made the content section take up more screen space than before and reduced the font size. Personal preference really, but we think it looks better this way.
Still to come:
  • A proper news system! The news posts are currently being done by hand (they're few enough that it isn't as completely stupid as it sounds), but we want to move to a proper automated system (we're lazy) that supports comments. But that means a server move first to one that allows cgi or php as the one we're on now is purely static. Besides, I want some new code to play around with. XD
  • Auto-updating Download page and "Download this story" links. As I've very easily proved, I'm worse at updating things by hand than Mel!
We hope you like the new layout, hopefully I haven't broken anything. I had told Mel not to update anything while I was doing this, but now it's all back in his hands.
So Mel, where exactly has Macramé got to? XD

Monkey-on-the-Edge
Peace Offering.
As an apology for how slack I've been recently, I'm releasing a bumper crop of Memo Years documents for you all!

This week, we reach the exciting (!) conclusion of To My Darling Fluffy. Just in time for a new saga to begin: Lt. Pete Barfoot and the case of the Missing Coffee Percolator! I'm releasing the first three of these now, with more to come in the following weeks!

I'm meant to be working right now (which I actually am - waiting for something to install) but I'm using the Council's valuable time to do an update for you all. Which actually means that I'm technically getting paid to do this work on the site...

Nowls and I are also doing yet more behind the scenes work (I know we keep going on about all this, but we're not messing you around, honest!). He's still learning PHP (lucky him) and we're looking into the possibilities of moving away from our current system of updates onto something... better. Also, there's going to be another change coming up (hopefully pretty soon!) which might be of some more interest.

I'd say see you next week, but we all know how useless I am at actually updating on time, so instead I'll just say: See you soon! :)

I'm a bad, bad person...
I know I promised the next Cholmondely-Smythe story on the 25th, and I have singularly failed to deliver. It was all going so well, but then I sort of got writer's block and haven't been able to write anything particularly funny (I know, that's never stopped me before, right?). I'm working on getting over it and it's coming along, slowly. Trust me, I'm just as frustrated as you are right now.
